DRS Marlo Coilmanufactures robust heat transfer, refrigeration, and air handling equipment for industrial processes, power generation, military applications and commerical markets. We provide custom engineered heat transfer solutions in a variety of configurations to cool, heat, and dehumidify air or other process streams in a variety of applications. Additionally, DRS Marlo Coil is positioned for significant growth in the Industrial/Commercial heat transfer markets.
Our Engineering Laboratory Intern will be responsible for supporting both the testing and analysis of a variety of heat transfer and refrigeration products for both the commercial and defense markets. Test support will include hands-on experience with piping/plumbing and instrumentation. The Laboratory Intern will gain experience in the operation of a LabVIEW-centered process control and data acquisition system. Analysis support will involve interpretation of test results, basic thermodynamic calculations, and carrying out software simulations to predict performance of a range of equipment. While performing assigned tasks, the intern will work closely with engineers and test technicians. Additionally, the intern will create documentation for standard work operations in the Engineering Laboratory.
- Work closely with and assist engineers and test technicians in the set up and running of tests on a variety of equipment.
- Hands- on work with HVAC&R equipment, chillers, and water pumps.
- Support assembly of test systems and production equipment using basic wiring and/or piping/plumbing skills.
- Follow verbal instructions and written test procedures, record test data, and communicate test results.
- Document test results and work procedures using MS Word and Excel.
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and customers as required.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
- Work both independently and as a part of a team with other Engineers to achieve project goals.
- Provide regular reporting of progress and status.
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer and business meetings.
- Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices of the engineering team.
- Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company.
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
* Minimum of two years towards a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree or related technical field
* Competent using MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint)
* Competent technical expertise in conversion of various SI and English units
