Job Summary
Responsible for facilitating cross-functional teams engaged in location-specific continuous improvement activities using enterprisewide standard methods for value creation and waste elimination in accordance with industry standard strategic deployments of Lean and Six Sigma. Ability to apply lean and problem-solving methodologies within cross-functional teams independently.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for manufacturing process development, implementation, and continuous improvement to enhance Quality / Yield, reduce Cost, and improve Productivity / Schedule.
- Initiate and lead lean manufacturing process improvement projects
- Involved in implementing lean manufacturing tools on the production floor.
- Perform time studies, calculate tact time vs cycle time, and develop basic manufacturing flow and capacity plans
- Specify and implement equipment and processes including efficient layout and optimization of material and information flows
- Provide production support to assemblers and leads. Document manufacturing processes and assembly work instructions in conjunction the manufacturing engineering team
- Design shop / visual aid tooling to assist production
- Coordinate layout and work station move activities.
- Prepares time estimates for proposed projects and evaluates time factors
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Other duties as assigned
