Job Title : Supervisor - P21 Structure Systems and Interiors Design

Location(s) : Philadelphia, PA, with less than 20% domestic and international travel

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide engineering support to production activity to meet AWPC's safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. This position requires thorough knowledge of the rotorcraft structural systems as well as the standard aeronautical structural installation design procedures. Daily duties include, but are not limited to, supporting assembly and fabrication of all AWPC helicopter lines, with problem solving in fit / form / function questions and technical issues coordinating the solution within the LH Design Dept. The Supervisor is also responsible for leading a team of design engineers assigned to structural installations of helicopter customizations and completions, in compliance with EASA and FAA type certificate regulations, using the applicable design tools (CATIA V4 / V5 - VPM / ENOVIA - DBT).

Preparation, modification, and review of technical documents.
Drawings and 3D models, Part Lists, NI, CR)
Manage aircraft design modifications by acting as liaison between AWPC Design Engineering Office and LH Structural Systems Department. Coordinate team efforts through task assignments to ensure need dates are met.
Support Structure Systems and Interiors Design Department for configuration feasibility
Design Engineering liaison for manufacturing, Program Management, Contracts
and Supply Chain.
Support production line and flight line giving solutions for the nonconformities to meet the aircraft delivery plans
Troubleshoot new structural installations / provisions and validate ATPs
Training, development, and support of other team members
Perform other duties and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned

A. Education
Bachelor Degree - Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering (Master preferred)
B. Experience
7 years of experience in an engineering design environment, preferably aerospace.
Combination of education and / or experience which would permit performance of essential
duties and responsibilities.
C. Competencies & Attributes
Problem solving in structural and mechanical design. Stress Analysis (preferred).
To be a highly motivated self-starter who has a passion for aerospace engineering.
Ability to multitask and pivot quickly as priorities change.
Effective communication ability across multiple technical areas and geographies.
3D modeling and drafting in CATIA (preferred), MS Office, MS Project, SAP (preferred).
Planning, organization, tracking of several projects simultaneously.
Ability to speak Italian (Preferred).
Mentoring and individual development of engineering talent.
Ability to lead a small, diverse team, and coordinate with other teams or disciplines.
