Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various driving capacities and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The primary responsibilities of the BLS driver will be loading, transporting, and unloading patients in a wheelchair van or ambulance. Paratransit drivers will be responsible for loading and securing a wheelchair in the van correctly. The BLS driver will be responsible for assisting the EMT with operating a stretcher, safe transport to and from facilities/hospitals, and providing professional customer service. Both job classes of drivers must have a clean driving record.
Duties
- Deliver transportation services in a pleasant manner
- Assist with loading and unloading the patient on a stretcher/wheelchair
- Demonstrate safe driving techniques
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Maintain routine maintenance on the vehicle
o Pre-Trip inspection
o Check common fluid levels (oil, coolant)
- Understand company policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality with all patient information
- Perform heavy lifting as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle
- Provide exceptional customer service during transportation
Requirements
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to drive different types of vehicles including vans and ambulances
- Strong customer service skills
- Capable of heavy lifting when required
Certifications
- BLS drivers will be trained in CPR, First Aide, and EVOC
