What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at Lepley, Engelman, Yaw, & Wilk, LLC?
This position is responsible to be a liaison between the client, attorneys, and the court system and to monitor all cases from the initial client contact to the conclusion of the case. This position requires daily use of Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Practice Master and Tabs.
Knowledge of various legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, deposition notices, discovery, demand letters, etc. is required. Ability to do legal research and knowledge of Lexis Advance.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills and be able to effectively multi-task, manage time sensitive documents in a fast pace environment. Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Calendar and monitor deadlines.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, petitions, discovery, briefs.
- Assist Attorney.
- Verbally communicate with and prepare written correspond to clients, physicians, experts, medical facilities, insurance companies and counsel.
- Organize and maintain documents in a paper and electronic filing system.
- Meet with clients.
- Schedule appointments, seminars, depositions, mediations, IMEs and arbitrations.
- Data entry into Time Keeping System.
- Review and digest medical records.
- Investigate facts and search public records and other resources to prepare cases.
- Draft demand letters.
- Case management.
- Transcription
- Screen potential clients.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
