What you will be doing:

Support Transmission & Engine remanufacturing processes, product & quality improvement actions from end to end - incoming core from field to teardown & cleaning processes, product qualifications, assembly & final testing.

Focus on core utilization, process & product improvements and tooling, machinery technology enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Support product teardown reviews, component attrition studies, root causes and corrective actions - with closed loop feedback to OEM Engineering & Quality teams.
• Develop project objectives and plans by providing input specific to product/process design requirements, project elements, and project scheduling.
• Plan, schedule, and lead Process Audits for Reman Parts - verify corrective actions to ensure compliance with technical requirements of the product and process according to a standard.
• Evaluate quality and program risk on an ongoing basis, with emphasis on meeting Throughput expectations.
• Be the voice of Supplier issues on component availabilities and follow up with expeditious execution of corrective actions to mitigate production working with OEM Purchasing & Supply Chain teams.
• Demonstrate understanding of engineering and industrialization aspects of remanufactured parts, such as design, specifications, and machinery, to enhance the process without affecting original design intent.
• Leverage understanding of field quality key process indicators (KPI), working with OEM & supplier's engineering and quality teams and work on implementing quality improvement strategies
  
  

What you will need to be successful:

Essential:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field
• 5 years of Process or Manufacturing Experience, with emphasis in Powertrain areas
• Demonstrated knowledge of field quality key process indicators (KPIs)
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering and industrialization aspects of remanufactured parts, such as design, specifications, and machinery,
• Experience working in OEM or Tier1 manufacturing environments.
• Microsoft office skills
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
• Travel required to supplier sites or manufacturing facilities - 5%-10%
  
  

Preferred

• 5 years of manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair or engineering development experience in Gas or Diesel powertrains and/or system components.
• Experience managing several simultaneous projects and ensure resources are allocated appropriately to meet timing.
• Ability to interpret Engineering Drawings (GD&T Knowledge).
