Test Engineering Lead – Innovative Vehicle Control & Telematics Systems

As the Test Engineering Lead, you will develop and implement state-of-the-art testing strategies that ensure exceptional product quality, enable high-volume production, and optimize manufacturing processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and Implement Comprehensive Test Strategies: Lead the creation of robust test strategies that align with production goals and maximize labor efficiency. This includes ensuring comprehensive test coverage through in-circuit tests, end-of-line testing, and efficient device programming methods to reduce manufacturing takt time.
- Design and Deploy Test Equipment: Oversee the end-to-end process of designing, developing, and deploying innovative test equipment to support manufacturing operations. You will also build and maintain strong relationships with third-party test and equipment vendors to optimize equipment performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Test Planning and Execution: Manage all aspects of test planning, scheduling, and execution to validate manufacturing processes and ensure product conformance. Collaborate closely with the company's contract manufacturers (CMs) to optimize testing costs and streamline the assembly process.
- Drive Automation and Process Efficiency: Innovate and implement automated test systems that enhance production efficiency, reduce manual labor, and improve throughput.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with diverse teams, including Engineering, Production, Procurement, Product Management, and Quality Assurance, to ensure seamless integration and execution of test solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report on test data to identify key trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights to drive process optimization.
- Continuous Improvement Leadership: Lead continuous improvement initiatives that drive excellence in test processes, methodologies, and equipment. Cultivate a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all test strategies, equipment, and processes comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Physical Sciences).
- Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in a Test Lead or similar role within a manufacturing environment, specifically involving complex electronics products (such as telematics systems, vehicle displays, and related electronics).
- Skills:
- Proficiency with test automation frameworks and tools, data analysis software, and manufacturing test equipment.
- Strong expertise in implementing production test solutions for complex electronic systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and process optimization.
- Abilities:
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- Ability to balance customer advocacy with the business needs of the organization.
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to influence and motivate teams toward achieving high-quality results.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced understanding of telecommunications, automotive, and embedded systems.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
