What are the responsibilities and job description for the Relief Forklift/Warehouse Operator position at Lesaffre Group?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Prepare crumbled, block or nutritional yeast for shipment, load the trailers as per loading procedure, and fill out the loading paper work.
• Supply plant departments with necessary raw materials and packaging items.
• Perform routine and non-routine cleaning inside and outside the facility as required by the department master cleaning schedule and/or the General Service Supervisor or Lead Operator.
• Maintain the warehouse and cooler keeping each location clean and orderly.
• Document, inspect and unload materials as per written procedures.
• Assist other departments with cleaning or production functions.
• Convert anhydrous ammonia to Aqua ammonia.
• Convert bulk products to liquid solutions to be used in the plant.
• Hook up and unload railcars, as per written procedures.
• Assist in inventory control by monitoring levels.
• Maintain control sheets documenting unloading of all bulk items.
• Verify quantity of items on railcar; verify car is empty to return to RR.
• Cross train into other departments.
• Secondary Duties
• Special projects as directed by General Services Supervisor, Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager.

Qualifications

Requires some experience with bulk trucks or rail cars. Understanding of valves, pumps, pipes, vessels, and batch creation preferred. Requires ability to operate cleaning equipment and supplies such as vacuum, mop, and floor scrubber. Requires ability to operate forklift. Requires ability to prioritize and organize tasks, and follow through to ensure completion of assignments. Communication skills and customer service skills needed in relationships with coworkers, management and other departments within the company. Computer proficiency preferred. Requires ability to work under minimal supervision. Must be well organized and able to manage multiple tasks, follow through on assigned tasks, and communicate issues to supervisor.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to accurately count multiple configurations of inventoried product and raw materials.
Reasoning Abilities
Must have strong troubleshooting skills. Must use common sense and solid judgment when making decisions.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Ability to be forklift certified required
Ability to wear respiratory protection.
