Job Overview:
The Logistics Analyst shall be responsible for leading the development, maintenance, publication, and ongoing ownership of logistics dashboards and carrier projections. Ensures that carrier performance and costs are being managed effectively through detailed analysis, and action plans. Cross functional relationship building with external carriers, Buying, LPM Manufacturing, Merchandising, Distribution, Ecommerce, and Accounting to create & execute inbound freight best practices. Performs data analysis to support transportation projects & initiatives. Manages day-to-day operational freight activities and contributes to the identification & execution of freight related continuous improvement efforts. Provides occasional support to the Logistics Invoice Coordinator through freight invoice batch uploads, freight audits, and GL coding.
Responsibilities:
- Create, execute, and maintain transportation dashboards measuring key logistics service and cost metrics.
- Analyze inbound freight activity to identify cost savings opportunities & work with internal stakeholders to implement solutions.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on vendor freight programs, including allowances, prepaid vs. collect, & landed cost.
- Manages day-to-day operational freight activities including cost/operational tracking and management of international and domestic shipments
- Build and maintain internal business partnerships with but not limited to distribution, manufacturing, merchandising, buying, ecommerce, and accounting departments in order to facilitate cross functional transportation synergies.
- Lead or attend weekly calls with third-party freight providers to address operational issues, improve processes and implement new programs.
- Actively create, present, and lead special projects that implement best practices to drive cost and service opportunities
- Supports the VP & Sr. Director with analysis and present report outs during strategic meetings for the division
- Coordinates the timely response to questions from the stores and field management regarding logistics needs.
Qualifications:
- Strong problem solving, analytical, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Well-developed organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks & deadlines simultaneously
- Self-starter with an ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) is required
- Excel and Access Skills (Macros, Pivot Tables)
- Operational understanding of transportation modes Truckload, Less than Truckload, and Parcel
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field required
- 1-3 years’ experience working in supply chain, transportation, or related field preferred
