Job Title: Extruder Machine Operator
Location: 26 Commerce Drive, Danbury, CT 06810
Shift: 3rd Shift ( 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM) Monday - Friday
Summary
In the Extruder Operator position, you’ll work closely with our Processing Team and Floor Supervisors to ensure that LesserEvil’s Factory Operations are safe, running at optimal speed and producing top quality products. In this role you will be expected to lead the processing activities for the extruder to achieve goals and produce high-quality (and delicious!) snacks.
The position reports directly to factory floor management staff.
Responsibilities
Being responsible for the safe operation of their assigned production line, focusing on high-quality product and GMP compliance. This includes:
- Managing the throughput on the extruder line.
- Overseeing quality of the product.
- The overall cleanliness of the production line.
- Verifying recipes within every step of the processing production.
- Proper setup, start-up of production, producing product, breakdown, and cleaning activities of the assigned production line.
- The ability to operate the spray dynamic coating system when needed.
- Ultimately responsible for the quality of extruded products produced on the line.
- Close alignment with the QA Team on troubleshooting any nonconformities or quality concerns.
- Ensuring all data and record keeping for the Processing Department is correct and submitted in a timely manner.
- Communicating with upper management to give feedback on operational issues and improvements.
- Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset by recommending improvements to processes and procedures.
- Performing other related duties as assigned and special projects as designated.
Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent work experience
- 1 years of factory production experience, preferred
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to identify facility allergens in English
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to collaborate with different departments
- Ability to communicate with management & employees in addressing equipment issues.
Working Conditions
- Meeting standards of GMP/SQF
- Able to work safely in loud, automated machine intense areas.
- Able to work in conditions that may be loud, wet, and/or dusty from airborne particles
- Able to work in conditions with unregulated/varying temperatures
- Able to work in conditions where floors may be slippery due to environmental hazards (ex. raw materials overflow, splashing of water in sanitation area, etc.)
- Able to work in conditions where PPE may be required (Respirator, face mask, etc.)
- Able to work safely with sharp items, including tooling and mechanical equipment
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, crouching or climbing
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Able to bend, lift, pull.
