Summary
The Member Supervisor is integral to the AmeriCorps program goal of providing impactful and meaningful experiences to volunteers. Incumbent works under the Director of AmeriCorps. Position requires supervision of up to 80 AmeriCorps members. Work is performed in close communication and cooperation with other program staff, advisory board members, and community service partners and volunteers.
Essential functions
· Works with the program director to develop, implement, and accomplish current and future program goals and objectives in compliance with all counties, state and federal guidelines
· Recruit volunteers through community engagement and other such means where they can directly engage with the public. Opportunities may take place after hours.
· Supervise up to 80 members and enforce disciplinary procedures with members violating program policies and unsatisfactory performance.
· Demonstrates, leads, and promotes a commitment to service.
· Promotes program outreach efforts by attending community meetings and functions, communicating with media outlets, and developing community relationships.
· Assists with the development, scheduling, and implementation of member training, workshops, retreats and special events.
· Responsible for timely record keeping, data tracking, program reporting, and program evaluation.
· Perform administrative and supervisory duties directly related to the AmeriCorps program.
· Performs additional duties as required within the program's scope.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree: Behavioral, Social, Psychology Science, and/or related field preferred.
· Advance computer skills and ability to learn new software programs.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Must be self-motivated
· Organizational coaching and leadership abilities.
· Communication, presentations and intrapersonal skills.
· Strong interpersonal and public communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
· Project management, Database management, and Event planning experience
· One year of experience in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Previous AmeriCorps or national service experience preferred.
Job Environment:
· Work is performed in both office and field settings.
· Makes frequent contact with volunteers and service partners.
· The workload will fluctuate due to deadlines and unforeseen events due to grant funding and the nature of the AmeriCorps program.
Conditions of Employment
· Requires the ability to travel for trainings and conferences
· Requires the ability to pass a background check
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit, type, and view a computer screen for long periods of time.
· Ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds, including books, computer equipment, and pantry donations.
· Valid Driver’s License required.
