Job Position: Summer Intern - Supply Chain / Sourcing

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and driven Summer Intern to support our Engineering and Supply Chain team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in evaluating alternative components, conducting country of origin analysis, and collaborating with engineering and purchasing departments. The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in a Supply Chain Management or related program and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Component Evaluation: Assist in the evaluation of alternate components for products, considering cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Country of Origin Analysis: Conduct analysis on the country of origin for key components to understand trade impacts, regulatory requirements, and cost implications.
- Collaboration with Engineering: Work with the engineering team to understand product specifications and determine suitable alternative components.
- Collaboration with Purchasing: Collaborate with the purchasing department to analyze supplier performance and support sourcing decisions.
- Data Analysis: Gather and analyze data to support decision-making regarding component selection and supplier management.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of component evaluations and analysis findings for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of supply chain principles, purchasing, and component sourcing.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with supply chain software or ERP systems.
- Understanding of international trade regulations and logistics.
- Previous internship or project experience in supply chain or engineering is a plus.
