Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced High-Pressure Blasting Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the daily operation and utilization of high-pressure blasting equipment in a physically demanding environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with blasting operations, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate various types of blasting equipment, including compressors, blast pots, silos, vacuums, dust collectors, air dryers, blast hoses, and vacuum hoses.
- Perform high-pressure blasting on a variety of surfaces using wet and dry abrasive blasting techniques.
- Operate and maintain air-fed helmets, soft hood air-fed respirators, and negative-pressure half-face respirators.
- Work in confined spaces, kneeling, crawling, and climbing vertical ladders as needed.
- Follow all safety regulations and maintain a personal commitment to workplace safety.
- Operate JLG lifts and forklifts as needed.
- Work various shifts, including overtime and weekends, as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience operating high-pressure blasting equipment.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a C7 certification from the Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC).
- Ability to qualify for operation of JLG lifts and forklifts.
- Must pass a hair follicle drug screening and background check.
- Must successfully complete hands-on testing, including wet and dry abrasive blasting on ferrous and non-ferrous steel surfaces, as witnessed by the MSP Quality Assurance Manager.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
