About Us
Let There Be Rock School is a music lesson facility and rock-and-roll community center. Students from age five to adult learn to play guitar, bass, drums, keys, ukulele and vocals. All students have the opportunity to join a band learning classic, current and writing original songs to perform in live music settings.
Job Summary
We are looking for a part-time instructor to teach one-on-one music lessons, with the opportunity to act as a band director. You will help students work toward goals in areas that not only keep them challenged, but also inspired. A positive attitude is required! We want to create a fun experience teaching the fundamentals of music and songs based on the students’ interests. Hours are flexible.
Responsibilities
- Create a plan to engage the student in the lesson, based on their interests and needs
- Regularly communicate with parents on students’ progress
- Act as band director for student bands to help guide rehearsals in a productive direction as they work towards playing a live show
- Work with children and teens, acting as a positive role model and mentor
Qualifications
- Must have experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
- Currently active as a live musician is a plus
- Knowledge of music theory and formal training is a plus
- Ability to deal with people of all walks of life with a positive attitude and an open mind
- Flexibility and patience with students
- Genuine love for teaching and playing music
