POSITION DESCRIPTION
This is a role which supports the efficient flow of the Plant 2 operations and the release of parts that are of the highest possible quality. A hands-on tech position responsible for measuring custom thermoformed plastic parts to specifications, tracking parts across departments, and producing inspection reports. The position directly supports the Quality Manager and works closely with the Quality Assurance Technician, Supervisors, Setup Technicians, and Operators to help ensure parts align with customer requirements and blueprint specifications. Responsibilities include but are not limited to those described herein.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in monitoring and enforcing Operator quality checks across departments
- Track and measure parts throughout Plant floor and in Quality lab using gauges such as calipers and micrometers
- Assist with problem solving – root cause analysis – corrective actions
- Work with responsible parties to resolve part issues
- Complete acceptance inspections for incoming materials; issue and follow up on material rejections as necessary
- Develop and maintain inspection logs
- Work with Quality Department to identify ways to improve existing processes and systems to improve quality and consistency
- Support quality operations and new production projects
- Assist with product preservation methods and implement improvements
- Maintain a safe and tidy work environment according to guidelines and standards.
- Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager
Skills
- Previous role in quality control of manufactured parts, or extensive experience as a quality-responsible technician.
- Must be thoroughly comfortable with GD&T and interpreting mechanical blueprints.
- Must be thoroughly comfortable with hand measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.
- Knowledge of MSWD and ISO is a plus.
- Familiarity with a coordinate measure machine (CMM) is a plus.
- CAD and CNC programming experience is a plus.
- Technical degree or trade program coursework is a plus.

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
