What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Criminal Justice or Law Instructor position at LeTourneau University?
We are seeking dedicated Criminal Justice and legal professionals to teach undergraduate courses within the Criminal Justice program on a part-time basis.; classes are held on campus during the day with flexible office hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver course content following the program curriculum and academic standards.
- Teach courses such as Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminal Law, Criminology, Constitutional Criminal Procedure, Policing, or Corrections.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to the integration of faith and learning.
- Create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and student development.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
- Ensure compliance with university policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.
- Utilize the Canvas learning platform and other technological resources to enhance student learning.
- Collaborate with the Department Chair to align teaching strategies and course objectives with program goals.
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related field; a Ph.D. or J.D. is preferred.
- Relevant professional experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, law, corrections, or a related field.
- Prior teaching experience at the college level preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to student success.
