Role Description
This is an hourly contract with potential for future full-time, on-site position for an Apparel and Accessories - Production Sourcing Manager at LETTONNE. The Production Sourcing Manager will be responsible for sourcing materials, managing production timelines, collaborating with manufacturers, and ensuring quality standards are met for our premium fashion products. This individual will establish and own the development pipeline for fashion products. It is critical that this person has the capacity to vet supply chain partners according to ethical and environmental standards. Prior experience performing independent outreach to develop vendor and manufacturer relationships in the United States and abroad is vital.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of Experience in apparel and accessories production sourcing, coordinating with overseas and domestic manufacturers and suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English.
- Supply chain management expertise, ability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively.
- Knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices.
- Experience with technical design processes with proficiency in fashion industry software for creating tech packs and BOMs, using Excel or Google Sheets
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to address multiple priorities across production streams.
- Ability to work flexibly and contribute to a variety of tasks in a small team.
Day-to-day Expectations
Candidates will be expected to take initiative and work proactively to problem-solve for our design team. In doing so, they will serve as our team's "eyes and ears" to keep production on track...commuting frequently between factories and our Brooklyn Studio. Their attention to detail will support frequent reporting, escalating needs and concerns while clearly communicating changes and instruction downstream.
Some activities they lead include:
- Ensuring that line sheets and design records are kept current
- Oversee and manage technical packs for apparel production
- Review lab dips, if/when the brand plans to print/dye
- Prepare and manage costing throughout the development process
- Analyze data to impact design changes and ensure adherence to cost targets
Additionally, there may be opportunities for this person to support additional fashion styling and administrative activities on set:
- Oversee show fittings and alterations, ensuring that product meets the desired aesthetic and fit
- Cast fit models, manage notes and photographs, maintain and organized record for bicoastal team
- and is comfortably commuting between factories, the fashion district, and our Brooklyn studio.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will strive to create and research sustainable solutions that lower the environmental impact of production activities.
- A background in sustainable materials, minimal/zero waste pattern construction, sourcing dead stock, recycled, or circular materials.
- Familiarity and experience with NYC-based production specific to denim production, small MOQs, dead stock fabrics, applicators, wash/dye houses, etc.
