Job Title: Employment Specialist (Job Coach)
Reports to: Executive Director and/or Community Employment Program Manager
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Executive Director and/or Community Employment Program Manager, the Employment Specialist’s primary responsibility is to provide customized supports to assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining employment in the community in a competitive, integrated setting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide customized coaching to program participants in areas of discovery/prevocational skills, career planning, job development, and supported employment
- Monitor and evaluate progress, collect data, maintain documentation and reporting as required by the Department of Mental Health, Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation and other regulatory agencies
- Identify career opportunities based on individual needs, goals and skill sets
- Assist participants in identifying strengths, weaknesses, preferences
- Identify barriers, accommodations, modifications in accordance with plan and goals
- Network with community employers and other stakeholders
- Participate in team meetings
- Provide on-going and follow-up support to participants
- Ensure people exercise their rights and that rights are not restricted
- Ensure people are treated with dignity and respect
- Report any unusual events/behavior in a timely manner in compliance
- Support the Lettuce Dream mission, vision, and values
- Always maintain confidentiality and HIPAA
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Qualifications
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Must have a valid driver’s license and clear driving record; must have clear and approved background check; must have legal status in the United States; must be willing to complete CPR/First Aid certification and other trainings as required at time of hire and on an annual basis.
Physical Demands: Ability to perform required tasks, which may include but not limited to, standing or sitting for up to four hours, and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
