What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Estimator position at Level 10 Construction?
Level 10 Construction is actively searching for a skilled Lead Estimator to work collaboratively with our Chief Estimator in assigning project-related responsibilities to estimating and preconstruction teams. As part of your role, you will prepare a Project Team Assignment Sheet to streamline the process.
The Lead Estimator will take charge of creating budgets, estimates, and pre-bid packages for various construction projects under the CM at Risk guaranteed maximum pricing structure.
Your role will also involve collaborating with the project management team to establish a comprehensive bidders list, solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals, prepare quantity surveys, and conduct thorough reviews of project plans and specifications for constructability and value engineering across all CSI (Construction Specification Institute) categories.
Key Responsibilities Include :
- Conducting accurate, thorough, and timely quantity takeoffs using company standards for all CSI division systems.
- Creating clear and concise clarifications and assumptions with input from the project management team.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while exhibiting strong multitasking abilities.
- Communicating with architects and engineers for clarification on plans and specifications as needed.
- Assisting the project management team in soliciting and analyzing subcontractor and vendor pricing when necessary.
- Preparing and delivering budget presentations to project owners and architects.
- Building strong relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, reflecting the company's core values.
- Participating in project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews as necessary.
- Developing accurate unit costs and analyzing value management options.
- Conducting technical reviews of plans when required.
- Identifying problems and proposing effective solutions.
- Expanding knowledge of building designs, systems, and construction materials to guide project owners effectively.
- Accurately estimating takeoff workloads and ensuring historical data accuracy.
- Assisting in purchasing or buyout duties when needed.
- Participating in Redi-check document review workshops.
- Leading the training and development of junior estimators.
- Completing other tasks as assigned by management.
