Engineering Manager Job Description
We are looking to hire an engineering manager to lead an engineering team in delivering high-quality and innovative solutions within the education technology space. In this role you will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership and project management abilities while remaining hands-on as a technical contributor.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews
- Provide technical guidance and career development support to engineers, helping them to grow both professionally and personally.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, ensuring they are kept informed of progress, potential risks, and resource needs.
- Partner with the Product team to prioritize engineering initiatives in alignment with business goals and customer needs.
- Contribute technically at a high level within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in computer engineering or computer science or related fields.
- 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 1 years experience in leadership role
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of engineers, with experience in performance management, mentoring, and career development.
- Demonstrated proficiency in one or more programming languages (C#, Javascript, etc).
- Hands-on experience with software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
