What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foreman/Field Crew Leader position at Level Edge Construction?
Level Edge Construction is a small , faith-based construction company that takes care of its employees. Level Edge Construction is looking for its next team-player and potential super star.
POSITION SUMMARY
® Lead a group of 3-4 construction field crew members to complete awarded projects on time and on budget for Level Edge Construction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
® Be an outstanding communicator with all members of the field crew and members of the office staff.
® Train and educate field crew members on existing and new framing and finishing practices and protocols.
® Communicate with the Project Manager of Level Edge Construction on the scope of work for each assigned project.
® Take the necessary steps to prepare yourself and field crew for the next assigned project.
® Delegate responsibilities to the field crew members to ensure completion of the scope of work for the assigned project.
® Communicate all material, equipment, and tool shortages or deficiencies to the Project Manager as soon as the deficiencies are discovered.
® Develop a working relationship with the general contractor’s project manager or site supervisor, or the project owner’s representative on projects to ensure the success of the project being constructed.
® Effectively document and communicate job efficiency, labor hours, and material usage.
® Take an advisory role in the company as to how the field crews should operate.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
® Advanced understanding of how to read construction documents (architectural/structural drawings and written specifications).
® Advanced experience of how to operate construction equipment (skid loader, tele-handler, mechanical lifts, forklifts, etc.).
® Advanced understanding on how to read and interpret estimate material lists and documentation to be efficient in the use of the materials ordered for a particular project.
® Working understanding of how to communicate effectively with other trade representatives in order to continue the construction of a project.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
® Education
o High school graduate, GED certificate holder, or the potential to obtain a GED certificate.
® Experience
o A minimum of at least five (5) years of experience in the day-to-day functions of a residential and commercial construction field crew.
® Computer Skills
o The ability to communicate via email or text messaging using a smart phone, digital tablet, or portable computer.
® Physical Requirements
o This position requires the physical requirements to perform on a residential or commercial construction site. The physical requirements include, but are not limited to, standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, climbing, bending, lifting, reaching above shoulder height.
