Cannabis Cultivation and IPM Technician

Position Overview:

As a Cannabis Cultivation and IPM Technician at Levels, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and vitality of our cannabis crops. You will be responsible for cloning, plant maintenance, scouting, managing pest populations and diseases within our cultivation environment, using integrated and environmentally responsible pest management strategies and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloning: Assist with cloning following the production schedule for the facility needs
• Clone Care: Assisting with clone care (watering, scouting, burping, etc.)
• Plant Maintenance: preforming pruning tasks
• Pest Monitoring: Regularly inspect plants and growing areas for signs of pests, diseases, and other health issues.
• Control Methods: Carry out integrated pest management strategies, including physical, cultural, biological, and chemical controls.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of pest management activities, treatments, and scouting reports in compliance with state and company regulations.
• IPM Strategy Development: Work with the cultivation and environmental teams to develop and implement preventative IPM plans.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all pest management practices comply with Michigan cannabis regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the cultivation team to optimize growing conditions and reduce pest pressure through environmental control.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in a cannabis cultivation setting or similar horticultural environment is preferred but not required. Prior experience with cannabis cultivation is a strong plus.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with common cannabis pests and pathogens is preferred but not required. Understanding of IPM techniques and sustainable pest control practices is preferred but not required.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, kneeling, working in greenhouse conditions (high temperature and high humidity), pulling and pushing equipment, working from heights, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
