What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pavement Marking Technician position at Lever1 - Internal?
Position Description:
As a Pavement Marking Technician, you are responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient setup, teardown, and maintenance of traffic control equipment of all jobsites. In this role, you are a strategic partner to the team and will help pave the way for the growth and success of the company by working in collaboration with team members, supervisors, and contractors to provide excellent customer service while exceeding Department of Transportation guidelines.
Qualifications
A strong personal value system that encompasses high integrity, honesty, a solid work ethic, high professional standards, and strong moral character. Having that down to earth, get stuff done attitude is a must.
Valid drivers license
Class A or B Commercial Drivers License is preferred, but not required
Enrollment and completion of OSHA-10 certification
Enrollment and completion of Traffic Control Technician certification
Active union membership can provide Letter of Intent to join
High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus
State licensure to work with hazardous materials preferred but not required; union certification preferred but not required.
Must be 18 years of age.
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be comfortable climbing up tall ladders, working at elevated levels.
Ability to operate a skid steer and forklift a plus.
Positive attitude and work ethic
Able to work independently or as an active member of a team.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
Essential Duties
Drive and operate a paint and/or epoxy truck
Operate a Mini Mac(s)
Knowledge of installation of preformed thermo and operating a thermo truck.
Review & understand Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and City of Kansas City, Missouri (KCMO) project specifications and plans
Distribute traffic control signage and markers in a manner consistent with MUTCD guidelines
Maintain positive customer relationships while acting in a safe, responsible, team-driven manner.
Complete job-related paperwork accurately after each jobsite task is complete.
Contribute to the maintenance of the yards and warehouse through continual cleaning and upkeep of tools and equipment.
Replacing sign and stand inventory.
Working together with team members to load and unload trucks before and after jobsite duties.
Complete vehicle inspections and communicate need of any repair or replacement.
Clean out and wipe down vehicle interior.
Communicate all job changes to all parties needing this information.
Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform other duties to meet the needs of the organization.
