Description
The Cisco VOIP Engineer II will have at least 5 years of heavy Cisco architecture, design and implementation experience in a mid to large sized corporation/ or service provider infrastructures. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated skills in Cisco Voice technologies using Cisco Call Manager and Cisco IPCC technologies. Candidates should have extensive experience designing and implementing the latest network technologies such as VOIP, Optical, SAN, VPN, VRF routing and switching, IDS, Content Switching, Load Balancing, and enterprise class switching.
In this role, you must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral are a necessity. Ability to document processes clearly is of extreme importance. Work closely with customers and the implementation team.
Essential Functions
· Participate with VOIP deployment projects, gathering requirements, designing and implementing VOIP solutions
· Determine impact of known and anticipated business needs upon system configurations in use. Research, evaluate, design, and propose complex to highly complex technology solutions to meet business needs cost effectively and in accordance to standards
· Exchange information, verbally and in writing, clearly, accurately, reliably, and timely. Must be a US citizen
Requirements
· Requires a Bachelors’ degree or its equivalent and at least 5 years of experience designing and implementing Cisco VOIP products; CCNA, CCVP or Higher Certification Mandatory
· Strong experience w/VOIP and voice TDM best practices, process, and procedures for support and deployment of Cisco Call Manger 10, and Unity Connection VM .
Support customer trouble shooting actions and Tier 1-3 support
· Specific Technical Experience
· Plan, design, install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Cisco VOIP/Call Manager/Unity/Network equipment on the LAN/WAN
· Cisco Call Manager in a Clustered Environment · Cisco Unity in a Redundant Unified Exchange Messaging Environment
· Cisco Meeting Place · Determines appropriateness of hardware/software changes and/or modifications related to VOIP on Cisco routers, switches, and call servers
· Test and Turn Up trunks, PRI’s, and network links in Cisco Router/Voice Gateways
· Knowledgeable of cable standards
· Cisco Routing and Switching background w/QOS experience a strong plus
· Strong background and knowledge of other Vendors TDM and/or VOIP products
· IPCC Enterprise a plus · Additional Cisco certifications a plus
· VOIP monitoring background a plus
· Windows Server experience a plus ,Special Knowledge/Skills

· Mentor and Develop junior staff members

· Provide engineering design review for current Cisco VOIP infrastructure deployments and make recommendations for improvements
· Provides reports and creates documentation for methodology, process, and procedure for current and future VOIP infrastructure deployments
