Leverett’s Chapel ISD, a small rural district in Rusk County, Texas, is seeking a dedicated District Life Skills Teacher to support students with special needs across both elementary and high school levels. This position offers a low student-to-teacher ratio with a focus on individualized instruction for three elementary students and one high school student.
Position: District Life Skills Teacher
Qualifications:
Must hold a Texas Special Education Certification.
Passion for working with students with diverse learning needs.
Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide adaptive instruction.
Strong collaboration skills with parents, staff, and support services.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $1,500 above the state base.
Content Stipend: Additional $2,500 for Special Education.
Insurance: $333 per month district contribution toward health insurance.
Work Schedule: 158 staff workdays (4-day school week).
Retention Bonus: Paid at Christmas!
