Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and technical accounting, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a solid understanding of financial concepts. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Qualified candidates will:
- Possess bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferably a CPA
- Possess a minimum of three years’ experience in accounting is required, preferably in a non-profit hospital setting.
- Have expertise in Microsoft excel.
- Have a high degree of accuracy and willingness to learn.
- Responsible for month-end close including accruals and bank reconciliations.
- Responsible for year-end and providing auditors with accounting records and supporting documentation including cost report information.
- Administer payroll, business office, accounts payable, and general ledger reporting. Works alongside business office director, staff accountant, HR director, and administration.
- Assure all reports related to payroll tax and fringe benefits are reported to the IRS and State agencies in accordance with regulations.
- Prepare other annual reports including AHA and worker’s compensation.
- Prepares and interprets budgetary and financial reports and prepares hoc reports and analysis.
- Manages fixed assets subledger.
- Assesses insurance contracts and acts as a point of contact with insurance companies.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
- Assist administration with financial models and operational reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Thursday, 32 hours per week, $30-36 an hour
