Description
This is a part-time position responsible for providing safe, quality and on time transportation services for our members of the LJCC J-Team After-School Program. The candidate will be involved in the after-school program and working with our staff to create positive experiences for our children enrolled in the program.
Candidates are expected to drive on a daily basis Monday-Friday. They will drive to one or more schools to pick up the children who attend the J-Team After-School Program. The candidate must be able to have a flexible schedule.
The candidate must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Applicant must be able to demonstrate reliable transportation. Applicant must be able a to pass a pre-employment physical, TB test, background check and drug test and be subject to post-employment random drug screening.
A CDL is not required for this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Bus Driver will have a polite, clear and consistent attitude is required for giving instructions to all entrants to the bus.
- Obeys all Federal, State and Local laws, policies, regulations and transportation operation guidelines.
- Obeys all traffic laws; observes all mandatory safety regulations. This includes educating riders quickly in the event of an emergency.
- Maintains safe driver standards and applicable physical and dexterity standards.
- Maintains knowledge of routes and schedules.
- Answers and/or directs riders’ questions as needed.
- Greet and assists members/customers upon entry in a professional, courteous and cheerful manner.
- Performs pre and post inspection activities to include, but not limited to: mechanical defects, adequate fuel levels, items left on the vehicle, vandalism to the bus interior and exterior, and must ensure all riders have exited the vehicle by the end of the route.
- Perform additional duties assigned by LJCC Management as needed.
Requirements
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
- Must be CPR Certified.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer software: including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; customer-service orientation with specific strength in diplomacy and discretion strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
- Customer Service-related experience preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent needed.
- Must have the ability to adhere to a flexible working schedule to accommodate Customer service needs.
- Expectation is part-time work schedule of 15-18 hours per week. Includes weekdays, holidays, Saturdays and/or Sundays as needed.
