The Sandra and Leon Levine Jewish Community Center is a non-profit, social service agency founded upon Jewish ethics and values. The Center provides and initiates diversified social, educational, recreational and cultural programs within a Jewish setting. The JCC is a partner in serving the community, is affiliated with the JCC Association of North America and a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte.
Camp Mindy and Katan are the Jewish Day Camps here at the LJCC. We are proud of the many years and many students that have shared their summer over the years with us. Please consider joining this wonderful camp experience with your medical and health expertise! Camp nurse is responsible for the care of ill or injured campers and staff and related administrative duties. This position reports to the Camp Director.
Responsibilities:
- Promote good health and provide health care when required.
- Ensures that the Nurse’s Office is kept clean and stocked with appropriate supplies.
- Keeps clear, accurate and concise records on all campers and staff.
- Keeps a daily medical log that maintains and documents the camper/staff injuries.
- Dispenses and keeps a record of daily medications administered.
- Keeps track of patients requiring follow-up visits for medical care.
- Observes at all times all areas of camp to ensure optimum levels of health and safety for campers
- and staff.
- Makes sure that medications brought to camp are locked in the medication drawers in the Nurse’s Office.
Position Information:
- Camp Mindy has about 800 campers and 150 staff.
- Camp Dates are June 16th - August 1st (plus one or two days a week for an hour or two prior to camp to go through files).
- Hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm.
- Salary -- $8,000 - $10,000 per summer
Requirements
- Current certification as a registered nurse or higher.
- The ability to administer medications.
- Responsible and dependable.
- Good character and integrity.
- Positive physical and mental health.
- The desire to work with children in a day-camp setting.
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, and patience.
- Ability to take guidance and supervision.
- Ability to relate to counselors and children.
Salary : $8,000 - $10,000
