Our campus includes a large fitness center, a five-mile hiking and biking trail, large indoor and outdoor pools and a baby pool, and the highly regarded Cohn Early Childhood Learning Center. We also offer dozens of group fitness classes, personal training, summer and year-round camps, and a wide range of other activities and programs.
Position Summary
The Membership Director is under the supervision of the Chief Experience Officer and serves as a member of the LJCC experience team with responsibilities which, at times, extend beyond the limits of his/her specialized functions. The Membership Director shall oversee the planning, development, and implementation of membership strategies that best meet the mission and needs of the agency. The Membership Director is also responsible for going out into the community to local businesses and networking meetings to increase memberships.

Essential Functions
- Responsible for developing and implementing a high quality member experience resulting in recruitment and sales of new members, improving member retention, reducing attrition, and extending the average length of membership.
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s membership strategy.
- Working across the organization, but specifically within the Experience team, the Membership Director oversees all aspects of membership.
- Successful candidate will be dynamic, well-organized, self-motivated, high-energy, and persuasive, while possessing an unequivocal level of customer service, diplomacy, professionalism, and discretion.
- The Membership Director demonstrates excellence in character and helps to build strong, lasting community relationships that align with the mission of the Levite Jewish Community Center.
- Coordinates member appreciation programs throughout the year and new member appreciation events.
- Responsible for promoting programs to members and the community at large to meet established budget, goals, and objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven sales track record in a service organization.
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience; at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills and creative thinking skills; innovative
- Team player, self-starter, reliable, empathetic
- Goal oriented and motivated; growth mindset
- Professional, polished appearance, excellent communication skills - verbal and written; excellent listening and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer/technology skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and Google; experience social media
- Strong budgeting, strategic planning, and marketing skills
- Previous experience in a non-profit working environment preferred; must be mission-driven
- Flexibility in schedule required; ability to manage frequent interruptions
- Must have an inclusivity mindset; able to communicate professionally and effectively to staff, management, members, and community at large.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday – 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. On site.
- Periodic “Manager on Duty” shift Saturdays or Sundays 8:00 am – 3:00 pm (in exchange for day off during the preceding workweek)
- Expected to attend periodic fundraising events
