Leviton is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to join their network solutions headquarters and manufacturing operations in Bothell, WA! This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc.
Responsibilities :
The Senior Automation Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining complex electrical systems and programming necessary for the operation of equipment and machinery used in manufacturing; including documenting, developing, implementing and sustaining equipment and machines for the production, validation and inspection of product. This position works under minimal supervision and may provide mentoring and training to others .
- Design electrical systems for equipment and machines with another senior engineer or manager to support manufacturing
- Develop programs to control PLCs, HMIs, actuators, servos, motion controllers, and vision systems
- Develop equipment in an organized manner by using project schedules, and spread sheets to manage component ordering and / or fabrication needed to assemble and program machine
- Develop functional flow charts of machine to facilitate machine programming and debugging
- Document programs and electrical systems of equipment and machines using appropriate programs in accordance with safety requirements and quality system procedures
- Specify and order electrical components needed to support the operation of equipment
- Debug, troubleshoot and repair equipment and machinery in support of production, quality and design engineering groups
- Assemble, wire, program, install and debug equipment purchased or developed internally
- Document operating manuals for equipment and machines developed internally or purchased
- Coach and mentor less experienced department personnel to develop their skills and abilities.
- Provide guidance, leadership, mentoring and training for technicians
