About the role
This position is responsible for executing all aspects of finished goods demand planning. A key responsibility is to facilitate an effective Sales & Operations Planning process. This process includes working with Product Management, Sales, Customer Service and our plants to develop, implement and execute planning strategies supporting our business units' objectives. This position must simultaneously focus on minimizing operational expenses and working capital while meeting our customer's delivery expectations. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Sales & Operations Planning process by facilitating periodic review meetings targeting future requirements
- Develop and implement forecasting policies for each product group in order to achieve inventory objectives; this includes appropriate safety stock strategies
- Participate in the Product Development process and support product launch and transitions through all stages of the planning process
- Lead projects related to inventory strategy across product families and item transitions
- Drive forecasts accuracy improvement through root cause analysis, collaboration and process improvements
- Identify and resolve variances between demand and forecast and report out forecast accuracy measures
- Run Demand Plan consensus meetings with Sales, Product Management and Marketing to ensure that promotions, New Product Introduction and other market trends are accurately planned
- Integrate customer requirements with demand plan
- Manage demand plan on phase out / phase in, suggest cutover dates that minimize inventory exposure and maintain service levels during transitions.
- May provide mentorship to Demand Planner I and II's as needed
