About The Role
This position is responsible for performing standard mold changes and set-ups and is responsible for the mechanical repairs and maintenance for all equipment in the Compression Molding department.
Responsibilities
- Supports a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures
- Diagnoses equipment problems and makes necessary mechanical repairs and adjustments to keep equipment in proper operating condition
- Repairs hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as required
- Performs production tooling changes, which includes removing, installing, and setting up molds using established methods and parameters to meet specifications
- Submits samples to Quality Assurance for inspection and to obtain a license to produce parts
- Operates molding presses and de-flashing machines as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Degree in Mechanical or Electro/Mechanical Technology or related field of study, preferred
- One to three years of industrial experience, preferably in molding or plastics field
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Ability to operate drills, cutting equipment, and basic shop equipment
- Ability to communicate in verbal and written English
- Requires standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling
- Requires eye/hand/foot coordination
- Requires the ability to lift 45 pounds

- Hearing Protection must be worn in marked areas - 29 CFR 1910.95
- Eye Protection must be worn in marked areas - 29 CFR 1910.133
- For persons wearing prescription glasses that are or will be worn as safety glasses, the glasses must be ANSI Z87 approved
- Steel-Toed Shoes must be worn in marked areas- 29 CFR 1910.136
- Up to 1% may be required
