About The Role
The position is responsible for creating end user demand, building relationships with distributors, and achieving sales goals within a given territory. The sales representative will focus on positioning Leviton's products with enough distribution to enable Leviton to meet its sales goals for all products the representative is responsible for. This position will focus more than 50% of time on calls focused on end-users to create demand and grow Leviton brand awareness.
Responsibilities
- Develop an annual sales plan in conjunction with corporate sales and budget goals
- Handle all day-to-day sales and operational needs at all distributors with open accounts, including: sales training on all products stocked, inventory management, creation of an annual sales plan, work with a distributor's key sales personnel to grow brand awareness and sales
- Create end user demand for Leviton products
- Further develop the technical expertise necessary to sell Leviton products in each Business Unit Handle or delegate administrative and support activities in a timely, accurate manner
- Report activities of the sales territory on a monthly basis to the Regional Sales Manager Call on both new and existing accounts to increase Leviton's sales and brand awareness (greater emphasis on new accounts)
- Handle day-to-day stock price levels and price quotations
- Provide product training to customers (distributors and end users) on a regular basis, especially with new product introductions
- Serve as a product expert for all Leviton products the rep is responsible for
- Responsible for a sales territory in excess of $4 million
- Bilingual preferred
- Must hold strong leadership, relationship-building, and relationship management skills as Sales Rep II at Leviton (or comparable)
- Must have outstanding oral, written and verbal communication/presentation skills as well as negotiation skills
- Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Must have a proven track record of high sales performance, including meeting/exceeding sales targets based on client and project expansion, as demonstrated by success in prior sales roles
- Must have an expertise in communicating with every level of an organization from top level executives to field personnel
- Must have the ability to learn technically complex products, demonstrated by prior success at Leviton or highly technical experience in a similar industry
- Must have the entrepreneurial drive to succeed
- Bachelor's Degree, technical degree preferred 10 years of experience selling Leviton products or comparable experience selling similar products
- 15% - 20%
