What are the responsibilities and job description for the Faculty, Graphic Design, Web Design and Development, and Computer Literacy position at Lewis and Clark Community College?
Scope of Position
Teach and assess student learning outcomes in Graphic Design, Web Design & Development, and Computer Literacy courses. In collaboration with colleagues, responsible for ongoing curriculum evaluation and improvement in student learning and goal completion. Facilitate student learning outside of the classroom through participation in student activities, college, and community events.
Key Measurable Expectations (KMEs)
- Learner-centered Instruction: Teach Graphic Design, Web Design & Development, and Computer Literacy courses according to student learning objectives. Regularly assess student learning to continuously improve instruction. Embrace learner-centered scheduling, including evening courses, off-campus courses, web-enhanced and web-delivered courses, virtual, and/or competency-based education (CBE). Teach classes in a Blendflex format where students can attend in person or virtually.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and/or revise course(s) and methods of instruction in collaboration with colleagues. Propose and develop interdepartmental, contextualized, modularized, online, Blendflex, web-enhanced, and/or CBE courses that meet student needs.
- Technology: Integrate instructional technology as appropriate in Graphic Design, Web Design & Development, and Computer Literacy courses.
- Involvement: Support College-wide initiatives and serve on committees. Mentor and support adjunct faculty in Graphic Design, Web Design & Development, and Computer Literacy.
- Professional Development: Initiate and maintain active participation in professional development opportunities that encompass Graphic Design, Web Design & Development, and Computer Literacy and teaching effectiveness. Maintain affiliations with regional and national employers and associations to sustain program currency.
- Assessment: Participate in the student learning assessments required by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) or other accrediting or governmental agencies. This includes, but is not limited to, submitting relevant data, attending assessment meetings, and implementing improvement strategies based on assessment outcomes.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design & Development, Digital Communications or related field.
- 2,000 hours work-related experience in Graphic Design or Web Design & Development.
- Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud software.
- Experience in HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript.
- Experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Experience in both PC and Macintosh platforms.
- Documented successful teamwork and creativity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in CIS, Business, or related area.
- Educational background and teaching experience.
- Demonstrated community college teaching effectiveness.
- Experience in Python and/or other coding languages.
- Experience in digital camera and video editing.
PROCESS: The College is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track position for Fall 2025 with start date of August 18, 2025. Application review will begin March 3, 2025 and continue until the position is filled.
Full-time faculty base salaries are determined by education level and experience, which includes an excellent benefits package.
