What are the responsibilities and job description for the Programmer/Analyst position at Lewis and Clark Community College?
Scope of Position
Conducts analysis and programming related to the College’s Enterprise systems. Conducts complex analysis of application and business processes in order to support, develop, or enhance operations.
Key Measurable Expectations (KMEs)
- Provide primary technical support on one or more modules within Ellucian’s Colleague ERP; ensuring that department requirements are supported and met. Support will include performing system and application analysis and development.
- Support for the installation, use, troubleshooting, and support of related technology such as the Unidata RDBMS, Web-related components, interfaces, etc.
- Interface with user departments to gather requirements, review technical options, provide software support (including analysis of options for meeting requirements using the Colleague software), document processes, etc.
- Write specifications; modify existing software; develop new software; and document code development and modifications; all in accordance with established standards. Standards will include using Ellucian development environment and tools for application development.
- Assume some project responsibilities, including maintenance of task lists, development of standards, participation in project teams, etc.
- Interact with software vendors to resolve operating issues with Ellucian’s Colleague software.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- One to two years experience with relational database technology.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with technical staff and users with various levels of technical expertise and computer skills.
- Ability to write technical documentation and procedural documentation that is understandable by non-technical users.
- Experience providing analytical and/or programming support in a multi-user software environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, logical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Commitment to user service and support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ellucian’s Colleague application and/or Envision Studio (training will be available).
- Experience with higher education administrative information systems.
- Experience with Java, Unix, and/or Web/HTML.
- Experience with a variety of PC-based software including Excel, Access, etc.
Team Members can expect to be paid a salary between $58,474 to $78,940 which includes an excellent benefits package. The salary will be based on a combination of relevant education, training, work experience, and skill competencies.
