LEWIS AND CLARK, located in St. Charles, Missouri is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team.
Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Duties and Responsibilities:
- Hiring new nurses and overseeing the onboarding process by training them or assigning them to a trainer
- Creating schedules to ensure that departments have adequate nursing coverage for every shift
- Coaching nurses to improve performance and handling discipline issues
- Monitoring expenses to ensure that the facility operates within budgetary constraints
- Holding staff meetings to discuss patient status
- Conducting employee evaluations that identify nurses’ strengths and areas of improvement
- Making rounds to assess patient status and observe nurses
- Checking patient records to ensure that they are accurate and up to date
Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with staff, patients and patients’ families
- Extensive knowledge of nursing best practices and federal, state and local healthcare laws
- Strong written communication skills to compile reports and write evaluations
