Qualifications
A Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Practice seeks a New York-based associate with 1-3 years of post-JD experience. The Group's practice—which is resident in our New York, Boston and DC offices—has two main areas of focus: (1) bankruptcy litigation, including trial and appellate work, and (2) core corporate restructuring, including debtor, creditor/debt holder, ad hoc committee, and creditors' committee work in chapter 11 cases.
Because of the firm's overall strength in the areas of securities, financial institutions, and intellectual property, much of the group's work involves the intersection of bankruptcy and insolvency law with these disciplines. The ideal candidate would have exposure to bankruptcy and insolvency matters as well as a basic understanding of typical debt finance transactions, and would be eager to join the group's practice in New York. Candidates with clerkship experience, whether with bankruptcy courts or other federal courts, are particularly encouraged to apply.
