What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Services and Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney position at Lewis Brisbois?
The Dallas office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service Am Law 100 firm, is actively seeking an attorney to handle a wide range of matters including commercial disputes and financial services litigation.
The ideal candidate will have at least four (4) years of experience practicing civil litigation, preferably in the area of Financial Services or Business/Commercial Litigation. Candidates must be licensed in the State of Texas, and will have strong writing and oral communication skills; the ability to learn new substantive legal topics as needed; familiarity with federal and state court practice; experience preparing answers, motions, and discovery; significant case management experience; a strong understanding of federal and state court procedural rules and practices; and clear and effective drafting and negotiating skills. Hearing experience is a plus.
Responsibilities include providing effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneys; conducting thorough factual and legal research and analysis; drafting pleadings and other case documents; attending hearings throughout Texas; managing matters from start to finish; and communicating professionally with clients and supervising attorneys.
Lewis Brisbois’ Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practice comprises attorneys who regularly handle state and federal litigation, including appeals and regulatory proceedings for local, national, and international clients, as well as federal, state and local agencies.
