Overview
Lewis Brisbois is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer who will report to the Chief Information Officer. This position is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining highly reliable and secure network systems to support the organizations business operations and growth.
This role requires deep expertise in networking technologies, protocols, and infrastructure, as well as stron problem-solving and analystical skills. The Senior Network Engineer collraborates closely with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, troubleshoot issues and optimize network performance.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

- Develop and design scalable, resilient, and secure network architectures to meet organizational needs
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and align network strategies with business objectives
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and software
- Lead the deployment of networking solutions and manage changes in the production environment
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure maximum uptime.
- Investigate and resolve complex network issues, including root cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Continuously evaluate and optimize network performance.
- Research and recommend upgrades, new technologies, or tools to enhance network capabilities.
- Document network configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of network assets and configurations.
- Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and external partners to address network-related needs.
- Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues and mentor junior engineers.
- Lead or participate in network-related projects, including planning, execution, and post-implementation review.
- Manage timelines, resources, and communication for successful project delivery.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proven ability to configure and manage networking equipment, including:
- Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with enterprise-level networks and addressing complex networking challenges.
- Practical experience with networking protocols, such as:
- TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and others.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
- Solid understanding of network security practices and tools, including:
- Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and VPN configurations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and documentation.
- Experience working on network-related projects, demonstrating leadership in:
- System upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
- Willingness to adopt emerging technologies, such as:
- Cloud networking and Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred
- 5 years of experience in network engineering, including designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise-level networks.
