Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Building Principal or designated district leadership, the School Administrator facilitates student success and growth by providing instructional leadership, fostering a positive school climate, managing building operations, and ensuring the implementation of district-approved policies, procedures, and goals. The Administrator oversees the development of staff and students, maintains effective communication with all stakeholders, and ensures a safe, welcoming, and engaging school environment. This position collaborates with teachers, support staff, students, parents, and district administration to carry out the mission of inspiring excellence.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or a related field from an accredited college or university
- License issued by the Iowa BoEE with appropriate administrator endorsement(s)
- Previous leadership experience in a school setting preferred
Essential Functions and Knowledge Required:
- Provides visionary leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate building-level goals in alignment with district goals.
- Facilitates the development and implementation of curriculum consistent with district objectives, ensuring high-quality instruction.
- Creates and sustains a positive school climate that promotes student achievement, staff growth, and community involvement.
- Supervises, evaluates, and supports the professional development of building staff, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Oversees and ensures the safety, security, and maintenance of the school building and grounds.
- Develops and monitors student behavior expectations, ensuring compliance with school policies and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Leads efforts to analyze and use data to inform instruction, guide decision-making, and improve student outcomes.
- Engages families and the community through effective communication, building strong partnerships that support student success.
- Oversees student scheduling, enrollment, and attendance, ensuring compliance with district and state policies.
- Manages the school’s budget and resources, ensuring effective and efficient use of funds to support the school’s mission.
- Coordinates with district leadership, other building administrators, and community partners to align building operations with district goals and initiatives.
- Maintains accurate records of student and staff performance, compliance with state and federal regulations, and building operations.
- Supervises and supports student activities, events, and other co-curricular programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designated district leadership.
- Reliable work attendance is required.
Travel Requirements:
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
