Help us make a positive difference for animals and people in our community! We are looking for a positive, friendly and upbeat front desk receptionist who enjoys people and animals and are able to work as part of a team to build a professional, welcoming and helpful atmosphere.
We are seeking someone who enjoys and is able to work in a fast-paced environment dealing directly with the community. This position includes opportunities to cross-train in other areas of the shelter, develop a deeper understanding of animal welfare through experience and continuing education opportunities, and learning skills to assist our clinic to provide health care and treatments.
This position requires a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check and must be at least 18 years or older.
Primary responsibilities include:
Assisting our community with admittance of stray and surrendered pets.
Promoting professional and positive relationships with our community, volunteers, fosters, donors, staff and other surrounding rescues and shelters.
Communicating effectively and professionally with co-workers, leadership and the community.
Preforming canine and feline intake processing and data entry.
Assisting with adoptions and lost & found services.
Assisting clients, donors, staff and volunteers.
Answering multi-line phones.
Updating animal and client records.
Maintaining and updating spay/neuter schedule.
Inputing and updating medical records.
Accepting monetary payments and donations.
Daily cash drawer settlement.
Following jurisdictional guidelines for licenses.
Additional responsibilities include:
Encouraging and demonstrating a professional and positive work environment.
Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment and work space.
Maintaining a phone log.
Providing exceptional customer service. This includes acknowledging a client as they enter the building with a smile, eye contact and a greeting.
This is a Part-Time position, with a schedule of 8am – 5pm and includes rotating Saturday shifts. Starting pay is $15.74 per hour with an increase to $16.28 after a 90-day probationary period and review.
This job requires lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and other strenuous activities. This person must have the ability to perform prolonged strenuous physical activity, including lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance or up to 100 pounds with the help of fellow employees for short distances. Any allergic condition that would be aggravated from exposure or through contact with animals or chemicals used to sanitize facilities or equipment is a disqualification.
