JOB PURPOSE :
Develop a broad skill set by working with College students in hands-on professional engagement for the Office of Community Accountability and Conflict Resolution (CACE). This position reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Student, and the successful applicant will exercise skills that correlate to the Association for Student Conduct Administration's (ASCA) Eight Knowledge Areas & Skills. By engaging with these foundational knowledge areas, this Graduate Assistant will learn skills related to addressing both individual and communal student behavior and decision-making. Paid hours for this position begin in August 2025.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Case Resolution Management (40%)
In a timeline outlined by the Code of Conduct, manage an individual caseload consisting of primarily informal resolutions for low-level policy violationsWork with students to create individualized educational outcomes for policy violations that focus on reflection, individual / community impact, and behavior changeBe well-versed in with College Policies and be able to apply those policies to reports about alleged violationsUtilize Maxient Conduct Software to create and maintain records, take case notes, make departmental referrals, and send letters to students about conduct and welfare casesSit on the Welfare Intervention Network to learn about student of concern risk assessment practices and to assist with maintaining meeting recordsEducation (25%)
During informal conduct meetings, build rapport with students and utilize motivational interviewing skills to help students engage with behavior changeDepending on the GA's assigned focus area, they will either be assigned to work with the Office of Health Promotion & Wellness to plan educational materials and programs around alcohol and drug prevention, OR they will be assigned to work on promoting and presenting CACE's conflict education programReview, update, and present various training materials on CACE processes and policies for campus partners, such as New Student Orientation, Student Engagement and Campus LivingAdministration (20%)
Perform administrative support for the Office of Community Accountability & Conflict Education and the Assistant Dean of StudentsMaintain and utilize the Community Accountability & Conflict Education Gmail, Google Calendar and Maxient accountsConduct on-going evaluations of CACE's various methods of assessment and make suggestions for improvementsUtilize Maxient's analytic feature to run monthly and semesterly reports on conduct case data and provide summaries of those reports to the Assistant Dean of Students and relevant stakeholdersEquity & Intentional Inclusion (10%)
Learn about the concepts of Restorative Justice and Transformative Justice and how these concepts may be applied to the work of Community Accountability & Conflict EducationBe able to identify inequitable organizational practices that may exclude students from being able to successfully participate in CACE's services, and work with the Assistant Dean of Students and other CACE staff to generate solutions to these practicesEnsure students' accessibility needs are met when facilitating meetings and hearingsInternal & External Partnerships (5%)
Exercise knowledge of campus partners and their resources, particularly educational resources, that you could refer students to to help facilitate student learning and supportBuild and maintain professional relationships with the other CACE staff and staff in various College departmentsMeet weekly with the Director of Community Accountability & Conflict EducationCollaborate with various campus departments to offer support and learning opportunities to students who participate in CACE's processesProvide supervision for our Student Conflict Educator for 1-3 hours per week.Law & Policy
Understand laws and legislation at the local, state, and federal level that impacts College Policies along with the procedures for hearing cases in CACE (i.e. FERPA, Clery Act, Title IX, DFSCA, etc.)RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS DIVERSITY :
