LC State invites applications for the position of Assistant Chair/Assistant Professor.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $65,000 - $68,500
Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in allied health discipline (e.g. radiographic sciences, physical therapist assistant, medical lab technologist, occupational therapy assistant, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
- Allied health practice experience
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and develop strong internal and external partnerships
- Detail-oriented and ability to organize resources, establish priorities, and meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in allied health discipline, higher education, or associated field
- Experience teaching in academic or career-technical allied health program
- Experience recruiting, advising, and mentoring students
- Supervisory experience
- Experience with program accreditation
- Experience with managing budgets
- Idaho State CTE certification or ability to obtain
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Chair of Nursing & Health Sciences/ Career-Technical Education allied health programs reports to the Dean of Career-Technical Education and will collaborate with the Division Chair of Nursing & Health Sciences.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with the NHS Division Chair and allied health faculty to ensure high-quality, current instruction, programming, and advising.
- Explore potential new allied health education programs and facilitate needs assessment, design, and development of programs.
- Develop internal institutional collaborations and external partnerships.
- Supervise allied health program directors and faculty.
- Monitor faculty state CTE certifications and renewals.
- Hire and facilitate the onboarding of adjunct instructors for allied health programs.
- Coordinate the schedule of allied health program offerings.
- Participate in Technical Advisory Committees for CTE allied health programs.
- Teach allied health program courses based on experience and content expertise.
- Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
