LC State invites applications for the position of Assistant Golf Coach.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $47,325
Degree Required: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
Required Qualifications:
- Previous golf coaching experience and/or college golf participation experience.
- Experience in working and coordinating events.
- Must be able to exert physical effort or activity that may include, but is not limited to, lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods of time.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Experience coaching at a collegiate level or instructing in the game of golf preferred.
Responsibilities:
This role involves assisting in coaching and developing players in all aspects of the game, including technique, strategy, and mental toughness. Responsibilities include designing and implementing practice schedules and drills tailored to both individual and team needs, as well as providing players with individual feedback on their performance during practices and competitions. Additionally, the position requires involvement in team management tasks such as organizing travel arrangements, equipment, and competition schedules. The role also includes developing, implementing, and managing the team's weight training and conditioning program in collaboration with the head coach, as well as assisting with the development of off-season training plans to improve overall performance.
Another key aspect of this position is overseeing the student section of LC State athletic games by managing the Warrior Zone, ensuring student engagement, and fostering a lively, supportive atmosphere for the team. This involves working closely with the athletic department, marketing team, and student organizations to boost school spirit and increase student attendance at games.
Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
