Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $16.81 - $17.94 per hour
Required Qualifications:
- Some knowledge of interviewing methods
- Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments
- Experience accessing data using a computerized system
- Experience independently handling complaints and upset individuals in a business setting
- Experience conducting sensitive fact-finding interviews
- Exceptional customer service skills in person and over the phone
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or post-secondary certificate
- Familiarity with databases
- Experience with CTE short-term Post-secondary education
- 2-3 years' experience with general office procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
Responsibilities:
Provides customer-focused customer service, conducts in-depth, in-person or on the phone verbal interviews to provide specialized and technical program knowledge to customers, including instructors, students, internal customers, business and industry partners, and customized clients; registers students and provides clerical and technical support and backup for all Workforce Training.
- Provide primary front office support, including answering phones, responding to email and telephone inquiries, and assisting walk-in customers. Responsible for directing calls and inquiries to the appropriate person or department when necessary.
- Provide exceptional customer service through written communications, including email and chat, to respond to inquiries and provide accurate information.
- Conduct in-depth interviews with customers to determine their specific training needs and provide accurate registration and program information via face-to-face, phone, email, or regular mail.
- Answer a high volume of calls from a variety of sources, including information-seeking, clarification, and confirmatory questions, and direct other questions and calls to the appropriate person or department when necessary.
- Register students and assist employers with registrations according to Workforce Training procedures.
- Set appointments for testing and ensure accurate scheduling.
- Provide support to office staff as assigned and assist coordinators as needed.
- Conduct daily mail runs and handle campus business.
- Maintain computer labs and classrooms, ensuring that all equipment is in working order, clean, and organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
