Electrician

LC State invites applications for the position of Electrician.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $55,000 - $60,000.

Required Qualifications:

• Possess an Idaho Journeyman Electrician License per Idaho Code, Title 54, Chapter 10.
• Have at least two (2) years experience working in the electrical maintenance or construction trade.
• Be able to bend, stoop, climb, and work from ladders, lifts, or scaffolding.
• Be able to lift 90 pounds.
• Be able to work in confined spaces and dirty and loud environments.
• Be able to perform journeyman-level installation and maintenance of industrial and domestic electrical systems, equipment, and devices.
• Be able to perform the physical requirements as published by the State for an Electrician(at this link: https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/idaho/classspecs/1263069).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with other trades within the department to achieve shared goals.
• Ability to work independently, coordinate and facilitate solutions, and analyze and resolve complex electrical issues.
• Ability to read and decipher construction plans and specifications, and review for compliance with campus standards.
• Attention to detail.
• Familiarity with web-based work order systems.

Responsibilities:

• Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
• Completes assigned maintenance work orders.
• Assists with materials acquisition and cost estimating to fulfill work orders.
• Properly maintains campus facilities to ensure a safe working and teaching environment.
• Provide customer service to building patrons.
• Monitor facility use and ensure conformance with policies and procedures, and applicable building and electrical codes; perform facility maintenance, and perform related work.
• Support campus events; provide temporary power for vendors, and assist with event setups and tear-downs.
