LC State invites applications for the position of Program Assistant.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $47,325 - $50,000
Degree Required: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others

- Attention to detail, ability to establish priorities, and meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Experience in academic advising.
- Experience writing reports, using databases, and organizing workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to student and faculty inquiries about teacher education programs and certification requirements.
- Facilitate students' transition from Central Advising to advising by the Teacher Education and Mathematics Division (TEAM).
- Serve as the initial advisor and transcript evaluator for transfer students and coordinate their assignment to a permanent faculty advisor.
- Review applications to TEAM to ensure all information has been provided. Evaluate transcripts of applicants; provide faculty with data required to determine each applicant's admission status.
- Assist the chair in identifying and processing transfer course equivalencies and substitutions.
- Advise students who submit petitions to register for coursework outside of the normal sequence and/or with incomplete requirements.
- Provide students with information about certification requirements.
- Monitor student results on assessments and report to advisors and program coordinators.
- Liaison with the Idaho State Department of Education on matters of certification and endorsements. Provide faculty with updates.
- Ensure Program Plans are current.
- Advise students on the Idaho certification process. Review student applications for certification to ensure accuracy.
- Advise students on out-of-state certification processes, as needed.
- Assist with division events.
- Prepare reports for accreditation, including annual Title II reports.
- Compile Praxis pass rate data for annual Unit Assessment Reports.
- Database management for student files and programs within institutional databases and information management systems.
- Assist with the development of marketing, advising, and materials for programs.
- Collaborate with division staff and faculty to ensure accurate advising and student progression.
- Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support the recruitment and retention of students.
- Other duties as assigned.
