What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lawn and Grounds Operator position at Lewis General Contractors?
We are currently seeking ambitious and personable candidates to serve as a Lawn and Grounds Operator. Lewis General Contractors (a division of Lewis Pest Control) provides herbicide services along with cutting and trimming services to commercial customers. You will work with our commercial accounts applying herbicides, cutting grass, weed eating and bush hogging services. This will require basic skills and the knowledge of power equipment, herbicide and irrigation. Our ideal candidate is someone that is willing to work hard to achieve goals for the betterment of the team and has experience leading a crew. 1-3 years of experience is desired. Most of this work is concentrated in the Mcintosh/Calvert area.

- Must be able to physically handle the work. Work includes grounds maintenance, landscaping, and other ground maintenance tasks as required on an as needed basis
- Must be able to work in an outdoor environment
- Must be able to take, give instructions and handle correction with a good attitude
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required. If you are dependent on someone else to get you to work you need not apply
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and a background check
- Will be required to apply for and obtain a TWIC card

Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain lawn care equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, and planting.
- Manage irrigation systems to promote healthy plant growth.
- Assist in tree care and groundskeeping activities to enhance outdoor aesthetics.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain necessary certifications, such as a TWIC card.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
