Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable individual to join our team as a Delivery Driver. The Delivery Driver will be responsible for performing various administrative and clerical tasks to support warehouse operations, including inventory management, data entry, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods or materials to designated locations.
- Load and unload items from the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Plan and follow delivery routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and deadlines.
- Verify delivery instructions and addresses before departure to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
- Collect payments for goods delivered, if required, and obtain signatures from recipients as proof of delivery.
- Inspect and maintain delivery vehicles regularly, including performing routine maintenance tasks such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and brakes.
- Follow traffic laws and safety regulations while driving and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues or concerns.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel expenses.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods at warehouses or distribution centers, as needed.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of local roads and routes.
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver delivery vehicles, including vans, trucks, or other transportation equipment.
