POSITION SUMMARY: The Communications Specialist is responsible for assisting with the creation and implementation of solutions to meet brand goals for the district’s website and communication channels. This position is responsible for creating relevant and engaging written and visual content for various communications channels, monitoring website content, contributing to social media and communication plans, and serving as an ambassador in our schools and community.
A successful Communications Specialist will be strategic, adaptable, and detail-oriented. The individual will have a strong journalistic writing aptitude, strong photography skills, proficiency with web content management systems and digital accessibility requirements, and knowledge of live streaming equipment. Additionally, the individual will possess a proven track record of conceptualizing and managing websites, and polished storytelling abilities. The Communications Specialist will support the Director of Communications with emergency communication and community engagement, and also collaborate with the district’s Social Media Specialist/Photographer.
This is a full-time position, working year round. The starting hourly wage ranges from $28.74- $31.15. To apply for this position, please complete the online application. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a communications specialist.
- Experience in web design and content production is a plus.
- Experience in copy-writing and editing.
- Working knowledge of MS Office; photo and video-editing software is an asset.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
- Outstanding organizational and planning abilities
